Business Process Re-Engineering

There are many reasons for developing and engaging in a business process reengineering (BPR) effort. However the overriding reason is to ensure that an organization does not automate obsolete processes. To that end, Converge IT Solutions (ConvergeITS) provides a robust methodology for assisting an enterprise of any size to meet this goal. The ConvergeITS BPR methogology involves a modification of the Business Transformation Agency’s lifecycle for BPR. The following diagram depicts the primary steps and is indicative of an end-to-end process that provides for feedback loops for improvement at all stages of development.

The ConvergeITS BPR methodology is a five-step process based upon the development of a comprehensive enterprise architecture plan (EAP). The EAP addresses all of an organization’s departments and business operations with a primary goal of achieving business processes that are as efficient and effective as practicable. The following graphic addresses the primary steps and tasks associated with our BPR methodology.

On one engagement, ConvergeITS principals simplified, shortened, and in some cases, removed agency forms which eliminated the collection of unnecessary data. In other situations, our principals rewrote them in "plain English," which made instructions shorter and more understandable.
